Lynn Classical picked up a much-needed win against Greater Boston League opponent Revere. The Rams swept Revere 3-0 (25-22, 25-17, 25-19) to improve their record to 6-4 overall and 4-3 in the GBL.
Kenzel Lantano registered his 1,000th assist in the win. Lantano finished the game with 32 assists, five digs, and two blocks.
“It was also a big night for our setter Kenzel, he was excellent all night and ran our offense very efficiently. His last assist was also his 1000th of his career,” Coach Chris LeBlanc said. “That’s a huge accomplishment for him and his teammates. Kenzel is very humble and understands that his teammates had a big hand in getting him there.”
Long Pham had 21 digs, two assists, and one ace while teammate, Viet Tran, added 13 kills, seven digs, and two aces.
“This was a huge win for us. It put us right back in the GBL title race. This was the effort that we had been asking for all season, from start to finish we established the tempo and forced Revere to adjust to our pace,” LeBlanc said. “The boys were clean all night and as coaches we felt that this match was going to be won by the team that made the fewest errors would come out with the win and tonight that was us.”

It was a straightforward win for the Tigers who defeated Innovation in three sets (25-10, 25-16, 25-17).
Didlaire Jacques Jr. had nine kills, five blocks, four digs, and two aces. Kayden Tran had five kills and five digs.
Elmer Duran added 20 assists while teammate Bryan Robles registered five digs, two aces, and two blocks.
Lynn Tech improves to 8-2 on the season.
BASEBALL

Down 4-2, Joey Sinibaldi entered the game in relief and threw three shutout innings to get the win. Sinibaldi gave up two hits and struck out six.
Peabody scored five runs in the bottom of the sixth inning. With bases loaded, after an intentional walk to Jariel Tolentino, Jake Crocker hit a two RBI single to take a 5-4 lead.
Ethan Waybret then hit a two out double to bring home three for the Tanners who get back into the win column.

St. Mary’s improved to 10-1 on the season after a 9-6 road victory over Boston English. Josh Doney continues to show why he’s one of the best pitchers in the state as he threw a complete game allowing seven hits and striking out eight. The win gave Doney his 20th of his career and he also eclipsed 200 strikeouts. At the plate, Doney went 3-for-4 with a run and two RBI.

Another game, another win for the Eagles. Leading the way for St. John’s Prep was pitcher Braeden Hurley who went 6.1 innings with nine strikeouts. Joseph Eberhart earned the save, closing the game with two strikeouts.
Nicolas Lembo registered two hits, three RBI, and a run.
SOFTBALL
Lynn Classical 11
Revere 7
It was a big game for Lynn Classical who defeated Revere, a team that beat the Rams twice last year.
Nevaeh Eth went 2-for-3 with a double, five RBI, and a run scored. Not only was Eth effective at the plate, but according to Coach Joe Morin, “she also played a flawless game at shortstop.”
Brooke Braswell went 3-for-4 with a double, RBI, and a run scored. Emma Chevalier went 1-for-3 with two walks and scored three times. Chevalier also went into the circle with bases loaded and two outs in the bottom of the seventh and struck out the hitter on three pitches to pick up the save.

The Spartans (4-4) picked up a big win against Gloucester. Leading the way for St. Mary’s was Olivia DiSessa, who continued her great season, going 2-for-4 with two runs scored and three RBI.
Aliza Crean-Oviedo earned the win from the circle while teammate Catherine Newbury got the save.
Medford 11

Despite scoring first, the Bulldogs fell to Medford at home.
Bulldogs pitcher, Kate Johansson, was in the circle and struck out 11 hitters and only walked two and allowed three earned runs. Both Jianny Bernabel and Aemlia Serino had a hit for Lynn English.

Tessa Francis continues to dominate the competition. Francis gave up five hits and struck out 16 en route to another victory from the circle.
At the plate, Francis went 2-for-4 with a double and two RBI.
Ashley Mortensen went 3-for-4 scoring three runs while teammate Nora Mahan went 2-for-4.

It was an evening to forget for the Crusaders as they came up scoreless on their trip to Archbishop Williams. Bishop Fenwick will look to bounce back against Arlington Catholic on Wednesday.

The Jets picked up a big win at Manning Field against Mystic Valley. Alex Waterman, Jordan Em, and Ian Brown each scored two goals. Maegan Baker (1 goal, 2 assistants) and Derrick Sok (1 goal, 1 assist) both played well in the win.

When you put up 17 goals on the road there’s a good chance you’re coming home with a win. The Spartans did just that as they dominated Arlington Catholic to improve their record to 4-3-1.
Ava Nason scored five times while teammate Shaye Denning found the back of the net four times to lead St. Mary’s offensively. Emma Gustin made seven saves in net.

The Crusaders (9-1) earned another big win while protecting home turf. Breanna Genzale led Bishop Fenwick offensively with five goals and one assist.
Kiley Bloom (2 goals, 3 assists), Molly Sullivan (2 goals), and Hannah Bettencourt (1 goal) made up the rest of the scoring.
In net, Courtney McKenzie made nine saves.

The Bulldogs got the job done against their rivals Lynn Classical. The game was close, but the Bulldogs’ depth was enough to earn the victory. Lynn English won at third singles, first doubles, and second doubles.
For the Rams Victor Bun won at first singles (6-2, 6-1) and Ori Beato won at second singles (6-1, 6-0).

It was a 5-0 sweep for the Magicians to earn a Northeastern Conference win to move them to 5-1 overall and 4-0 in the NEC.
Sophomore Ty Cooper debuted at first singles and won his matchup 6-1, 6-2 but according to Coach Elisabeth Foukal, the match was “closer than the final score.”
Second and third singles won their match with Austin Bacon (6-2, 6-0) and Alex Boehning (6-0, 6-0) dominating their competitions.
First and second doubles both picked up wins without dropping a single game. Quinn Sullivan and Nico Altonian won at first doubles with teammates Quinn Fletcher and Graydon Waller winning at second doubles.

It was a tough evening against the Chieftains with Swampscott losing on home court. Swampscott’s lone winner was at first singles with Sam Schepens winning his matchup 6-2, 6-1.

St. Mary’s remained undefeated after a convincing 4-1 win over Maimonides. Tommy Shea (6-1, 6-2), Stephen Nason (4-6, 6-0, 6-1), Jason Spaulding (4-6, 7-6, 6-3) and doubles team Simon Tenorio and Ryan Gil (6-1, 4-6, 10-8) were the winners for the Spartans.

Sami Dosch at first singles and the duo at first doubles Josie Reers and Callie Gilmore both won their matches 6-0, 6-0.
Caroline Crosby made her varsity debut at third singles and walked away with a 6-3, 6-1 win. Also getting their debut wins were Zoi Guzzinin and Erin Wilder at second doubles 6-0, 6-1.
“It was great to see our ‘bench’ players play in a varsity matchup and come away with a win,” Coach Tracy Ackerman said. “It shows the depth we have on our team. We have 2 tough matches against Danvers and a re-match against Masco later this week.”
