The Saugus baseball team picked up a big Northeastern Conference win over Winthrop on Friday evening. The Sachems defeated the Vikings 4-0.

Brayden Crawford had it going on the mound for the Sachems striking out 10 Vikings and allowed one walk and one hit in six innings.

“We’ve been talking about bringing energy, playing loose, and having fun. Today we brought that energy from the time we began warming up and it helped us win,” Saugus Head Coach Mike Mabee Jr. said. “Crawford has been nails on the mound all year and today he finally got some run support earning him the win. We’re past the halfway point and have seven of our last eight games at home. We’re looking to capitalize on our field and gain some momentum going forward.”
