Friends of Lynn Public Library are hosting a Sip ‘N’ Paint fundraiser on May 10, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the library at 5 N. Common St. Tickets are $40 each and available on www.goldfinchartstudio.com. Attendees must be 21+ years of age.
Sip ‘N’ Paint guests will paint a picture on antique slate that they can take home while enjoying wine, beer, non-alcoholic drinks, and crudités. Attendees may enter our raffle for a wine and glasses basket and can bid on several art pieces in our silent auction. All proceeds go to the Friends of the Lynn Public Library, which supports the library’s array of program offerings.
Local artist Sherry Hoffman of Goldfinch Art Studio will instruct our participants in painting a beautiful silhouette against a colorful background on slate. Sherry Hoffman grew up in Swampscott where she used the public library all the time. Her family has deep roots in Lynn, as her grandfather owned Lipsky Movers in Lynn for 70 years. She has led countless art classes and events, including paint nights with the public libraries in Acton, Billerica, Burlington, and Carlisle.
Jennifer Bonardi, Vice President of the Friends of Lynn Public Library, says, “The Sip ‘N’ Paint will be a lively social event where we create and appreciate art while supporting the programs of a vital Lynn institution. For 125 years, Lynn Public Library has proudly shone as a jewel in the crown of this fine city.”
