LYNN — The North Shore Latino Business Association (NSLBA) welcomes community members to attend its upcoming ribbon cutting ceremony for “Lynn Walking Shoe” Tours on May 9.
The ribbon cutting kicks off at noon at the corner of Exchange Street and Mount Vernon Street.
President, Founder and CEO of the NSLBA, Frances Martinez, shared her excitement for the first steps of the new business.
“This company is owned by Michelle Guzman, she gives tours throughout the city of Lynn, and also does tours with the Ferry that goes from Lynn to Boston,” Martinez explained. “During the event, Mayor Jared C. Nicholson will be there, as well as State Representatives and local councilors.”
Members of the NSLBA, as well as friends and family, will also be attending, according to Martinez.
“She doesn’t have a storefront, she doesn’t have an office, but since her business entails tours, we wanted to do it on the street,” Martinez said. “We wanted people to see at least that part of the city.”
Martinez added that she hopes people get a clear understanding of the services the new business will provide to the community.
“My understanding is that she’s the only person that does this, especially bilingual tours, so we want people to utilize those services, so they can learn more about the city of Lynn… And also the opportunity of a guide for people that come and visit the city, to see what the beautiful history of the city has to offer.”
