Arrest

Brian M. French, 40, of Northshore Road, was arrested at 7:12 p.m. Wednesday for assault. 

Animal Control

A report of a dog complaint at 5:39 p.m. Wednesday on Washington Street at Dane Street. Officer observed a loose small white dog running around the street. Unable to locate. 

Area Checks

Reports of area checks at 12:47 a.m. Wednesday at Chabad of Peabody on Lowell Street, 2:03 a.m. on Andover Street, and 1:22 p.m. on Warren Street.

Assault

A report of an assauly/A&B at 7:12 p.m. Wednesday on Northshore Road. Caller reported his brother was unwanted at the residence and was causing a disturbance. Arrest made. 

Assist Citizen

A report of citizen assistance at 8:07 a.m. Wednesday at the YMCA on Lynnfield Street. A person walked into the station and reported an assault. Investigated; a report at 11:38 a.m. at Covenant Christian Academy on Pine Street. Business received questionable messages via social media. Investigated; a report at 6:48 p.m. on Andover Street. An irate caller reported items stolen from the storage facility and believed people dressed as detectives were stealing them. Investigated; a report at 8:02 p.m. on Main Street. Party reported that someone had taken her car keys. No action required.

Reports of building/property checks at 2:23 a.m. Wednesday on Endicott Street, 10:48 a.m. at Big Y Plaza on Lowell Street, 5:19 p.m. at St. Adelaide’s Parish Center on Lowell Street, 5:26 p.m. at Chabad of Peabody on Lowell Street, 5:28 p.m. at Community Covenant Church on Lake Street, 7:10 p.m. at St. Adelaide’s Parish Center on Lowell Street, 7:16 p.m. at Community Covenant Church on Lake Street, and 8:50 p.m. at Covenant Christian Academy on Pine Street.

DPW Callout

A report of a DPW callout at 6:45 a.m. Wednesday on Lowell Street. Officer reported a large pothole. DPW notified; a report at 1:44 p.m. on Franklin Street at Foster Street. There was a report of a ripped off stop sign. DPW notified.   

Fraud

A report of fraud at 12:50 p.m. Wednesday at Simple Lawn Care Services on Summit Street. An employee walked into the station and reported fraud. Several checks were written without his authorization. Investigated; a report at 3:09 p.m. on Centennial Drive. A male walked into the station to report a pass fraud. Investigated. 

Illegal Dumping

A report of illegal dumping at 8:35 p.m. Wednesday on Felton Street. Caller reported illegal dumping at his apartment and he had video proof. Services rendered. 

Motor Vehicles

A report of a motor vehicle accident at 7:37 a.m. Wednesday on Andover Street. A female requested an officer on scene to assist in paperwork exchange. Services rendered; a report at 1:03 p.m. at Lahey on Essex Center Drive. It was a hit and run. Investigated; a report at 2:20 p.m. at Capone’s on Summit Street. A passerby reported an accident. An ambulance was requested for one driver. Investigated; a report at 2:25 p.m. on Route 128 North on the ramp. Vehicle towed; a report at 2:53 p.m. on Forest Street at Centennial Drive. It was a minor accident. Services rendered; a report at 4:25 p.m. on Lynn Street. Services rendered; a report at 5:05 p.m. at Lahey on Essex Center Drive. There was a hit and run near the main entrance to the parking lot. Investigated; a report at 5:16 p.m. on Lynnfield Street. It was an accident with no injury. Investigated; a report at 8:20 p.m. on Route 95 South at Lowell Street. Caller reported an accident with a deer. Mass State Police to handle. 

Reports of motor vehicle stops at 7:55 a.m. Wednesday at Peabody Veterans Memorial High School on Lowell Street, 10:41 a.m. on Cashman Road at Florence Road, 11:37 a.m. on Union Street at Tremont Street, 11:47 a.m. on Foster Street at Mason Street, 12:33 p.m. on Centennial Drive, 2:20 p.m. on King Street, 3:13 p.m. on Andover Street at Andover Drive, 3:31 p.m. on Forest Street at Lakeland Park Drive, and 4:40 p.m. at Spinelli’s on Newbury Street.

Traffic Hazard

A report of a traffic hazard at 1:31 p.m. Tuesday on North Central Street. Caller reported a plow attachment blocking the sidewalk and affecting foot traffic. Services rendered. 

Vandalism

A report of vandalism at 1:08 p.m. Wednesday at the Peabody Library on Main Street. Investigated. 

SAUGUS

Alarm

A report of a burglar alarm at 9:01 a.m. Wednesday on Broadway. Accidental/defective alarm; a report at 7:15 p.m. on Harwich Street. Accidental/defective alarm.  

Animal Complaint

A report of animal control at 8:56 a.m. Wednesday on Western Avenue. Caller reported a loose lab. Animal Control Officer was notified; a report at 1:33 p.m. on Hawkes Street. ACO responded; a report at 5:19 p.m. on Winter Street. A woman walked into the station with a small black and white dog that had been running near the cemetery. Services rendered.  

Found Property

A report of found property at 2:43 p.m. Wednesday at the Public Safety Building on Hamilton Street. Report taken. 

Bylaw Violation

A report of a bylaw violation at 1:10 p.m. Wednesday on School Street. Caller reported a neighbor was dumping debris into her yard. Debris removed from road.

Hazardous Road Condition

A report of a hazardous road condition at 12:29 p.m. Wednesday at Starbucks on Broadway. Officer reported being flagged down for a grill in the middle lane. 

License Plate Lost/Stolen

A walk-in report of a license plate that was lost/stolen at 12:22 p.m. Wednesday on Broadway. A woman went into the station and reported that her license plates were stolen.

Motor Vehicles

A report of a motor vehicle accident at 7:35 a.m. Wednesday on Hamilton Street. Caller reported a two-car accident involving a bus with a child on board. Report taken; a report at 9:11 a.m. on Route 1 South at Main Street bridge. Caller reported being involved in an accident wth a large commercial vehicle. Report taken; a report at 4:09 p.m. on Lincoln Avenue. Report taken; a report at 6:24 p.m. at Target on Lynn Fells Parkway. Caller reported she was involved in a minor accient and the other party didn’t have their insurance. Services rendered. 

A report of a motor vehicle leaving the scene of an accident at 5:55 p.m. Wednesday at Brew Zone on Broadway. Caller reported his pole in front og his business had been hit. No police service necessary. 

A report of a suspicious motor vehicle at 7:20 a.m. Wednesday on East Denver Street. Caller reported a suspicious person in a white Ford parked behind the Evans School. Area check performed.

A report of the unlawful operation of a motor vehicle at 11:56 a.m. Wednesday on Walnut Street. Report taken. 

Neighborhood Dispute

A report of a neighborhood dispute at 5:26 p.m. Wednesday on Hawkes Street. Caller reported she was having a dispute with a neighbor. Investigated. 

Property Damage

A report of property damage at 9:52 a.m. Wednesday on Cliff Road. Caller reported damage to her property. Investigated. 

Suspicious Activity

A report of suspicious activity at 12:10 p.m. Wednesday at Walgreens on Broadway. Employee reported that a woman was attempting to steal some items and dropped them before entering a vehicle. Investigated. 

Unwanted Party

A report of an unwanted party at 10:56 a.m. Wednesday at Home Depot on Broadway. Employee reported a customer that they wanted removed. Perpetrator(s) gone on arrival.

Reports of area checks at 6:02 a.m. Wednesday on Atlantic Avenue, 6:10 a.m. on Atlantic Avenue, 6:37 a.m. on Humphrey Street, and 7:27 p.m. on Atlantic Avenue.
