After losing earlier in the season to the Rams, Lynn English came out on a mission, defeating rivals Lynn Classical 12-6.
Lynn English started the game strong with Guilmer Galva hitting an inside-the-park home run in the top of the second inning to give the Bulldogs a 4-0 lead.
Despite Lynn Classical getting a run back, the Bulldogs responded and took a 5-1 lead into the fourth inning.
With a 7-3 lead going into the bottom of the fifth inning, the Bulldogs tacked on a few more insurance runs to give themselves a commanding 12-4 lead after five innings.

The Spartans lost for only the second time this season (14-2), but remain atop the Catholic Central League standings.
St. Mary’s offense couldn’t get going as the Spartans only registered two hits in the loss.
Jack Zimmerman went 4.2 innings, allowed four runs on six hits while striking out eight on the mound.

Luke DiSilvio pitched seven innings allowing four hits, one walk, and struck out seven for the Pioneers.
DiSilvio also helped himself out by hitting a solo home run which turned out to be the game-winner.
Charlie Morgan went 4-for-4 with two RBI and made “two terrific catches in center field” according to Head Coach John O’Brien.
Drew George hit a two-run home run in the second inning.
“The kids answered the bell today,” O’Brien said.
Lynnfield improves to 11-3 on the season.

Salem pitched a four-hitter to drop Swampscott to 7-8 on the season.
Caden Ross had an RBI single to drive in Nat Mahler, who reached base earlier with a single for the Big Blue’s lone run.

The Tigers couldn’t pull off the win on the road, losing to a talented Greater Lawrence team.

The Rams set the tone from the start, scoring six runs in the top of the first to put the pressure on the Bulldogs.
Classical freshman Chloe Corbett was 2-for-4 with a double, a run, and four RBI.
Aysia Olase drove in four runs and went 2-for-4 at the plate. Olaes was also in the circle, pitching five innings, allowing just four hits, and finished with two strikeouts.
The Rams scored a lot of runs with Brooke Braswell (5 runs), Mia Duncan (4), and Nevaeh Eth (4) accounting for 13 runs scored.
St. Mary’s 2

The Spartans hosted Bishop Feehan and picked up a big victory over the Shamrocks. It was Lina Owumi who came up clutch, hitting the game-winning, walk-off RBI single.
Aliza Crean-Oviedo was in the circle for the Spartans and pitched a complete game with four strikeouts.
The win moves St. Mary’s into a first-place tie in the Catholic Central League.

The Big Blue outlasted the Witches to give them a big win over a conference rival. Hayden Haskell picked up the win in relief, giving up six hits while striking out seven Witches.
Swampscott’s bats were hot, connecting on 11 hits in the game.
Lauren Fahey and Olivia Barletta had three hits each, while Elizabeth Demady and CeCe O’Connor each had two RBI.

The Magicians took care of the Falcons at home. Star pitcher, Tessa Francis, finished the game with 11 strikeouts while going 1-for-3 at the plate.
Luka Bornhorst went 2-for-3 with a single and a double with two RBI to lead Marblehead.

It was a perfect day for the Lynnfield seniors as it celebrated Senior Day.
The Pioneers honored their four captains, Morgan Hubbard (Tufts University), Kaila George (Wake Forest University), Julia Corrente (George Washington University), and Libby Considine (University of Tampa).
An early home run from Olivia Kelte set the tone for the Pioneers in the first inning. Lynnfield led 3-1 going into the bottom of the sixth inning before it broke the game open, scoring nine runs.
George, Hubbard and Faith Angelo each had two hits, combining to drive in seven.

Lily Ventre continues her impressive season for Saugus going 4-for-4 with six RBI. Ventre was a home run away from hitting the cycle.
Danica Schena went 4-for-5 with two RBI and scored four runs.
Sofia McCarrier went the distance in the circle, earning the win.

Swampscott’s Jason Rothwell scored six goals, including his 100th career goal for the Big Blue.
The Big Blue had its Senior Night and it was a good win to honor their 10 seniors.
Swampscott had 11 different scorers on the night as it continues to show it can hurt you in many ways.

The Tanners picked up a big Northeastern Conference win over the Magicians on home turf. Peabody avenged an earlier-season loss to Marblehead.
Leading the way for Peabody was Brooke Lomasney, who scored seven goals and provided three assists. Victoria Vaz (3 goals, 1 assist), and Madi Barrett (2 goals, 1 assist) chipped in with goals. Ally Bettencourt, Bella Kassis, Sophia Kassis, Ari Alvarado, Leah Bresnahan, and Connie Patturelli all scored once, while Caitlin Snow made 13 saves in net.
Maddie Forbes led the way for Marblehead with two goals and two assists. Kathryn Commoss, Gretchen Smith, Caitlyn Ryan, Zoe Dwyer, and Ramona Gillett all scored a goal in the loss.

The Witches were no match for the Big Blue on Monday evening. Swampscott had nine different scorers on the night. Lea Beatrice, Victoria Pierro, Cecelia Tripp, and Caroline Reen each netted a hat trick in the win.
Fiona Keaney, Bridget Maloney, Lila Girard, Quinn Kelleher, and Vera Conley all scored at least one goal.

The Magicians keep on winning and improve their record to 10-1. Marblehead has clinched the Northeastern Conference title with a perfect 9-0 conference record.
Swampscott’s lone victor was Sam Schepens who defeated Marblehead’s Etan Farfel at first singles in a back-and-forth battle. Schepens won 7-5, 7-5.

The Cardinals had the Spartans number on Monday. St. Mary’s will look to bounce back on Tuesday against Bishop Feehan.

For the 42nd consecutive year, Lynnfield has qualified for the state tournament.
First singles Paige Martino and second singles Lily Alves each swept their opponents in straight sets 6-0, 6-0.
Third singles, Kami Khiat, won 6-2, 6-2. In doubles both first and second teams won with comfort. Kathleen Brown and Christine Cho at first doubles and Vicky McCrann and Emma Wagon didn’t drop a set.

The Magicians were unstoppable against Gloucester. Sami Dosch got Marblehead off to a fast start with a 6-0, 6-1 win at first singles. At second singles, Nina Johnson fell behind, dropping the first set 0-6. Johnson won the second set 6-0, before winning the match in a 10-point tiebreaker 10-1.
Abbie Goodwin won comfortably at third singles 6-0, 6-0.
Lani Gilmore and Reese Friedman at first doubles won 6-1, 6-1, while second doubles Joy Meshulam and Lilah Siegel made their varsity debuts and won 6-0, 6-0.

Nikki Carr (6-1,6-0), Ana Eccles (6-1,6-2), Lilly Carr 6-2, 6-2, Ava and Alexia O’Donnell (6-4, 6-1), Eve Byrne and Janielle de la Cruz (6-0, 6-1) were the winners for Swampscott.
The Big Blue improved their record to 6-2 and now face a daunting task of having eight games in nine days.

Despite all the celebrations for St. Mary’s Senior Day, the celebrations were cut short after Mystic Valley earned the road victory.
Carolina Toranzo was the lone victor for St. Mary’s.

The Rams (9-7) picked up the rivalry win against the Bulldogs in straight sets (25-15, 25-17, 25-14).
Viet Tran had 12 kills, five digs, one ace, and one block for Lynn Classical while teammate Long Phan had 20 digs, two aces, and one assist. Junior setter, Kenzel Lantano, registered 31 assists, two digs, three aces, and one kill.
“Anytime we face off against English, we know it’s going to be a fight. They play exceptionally hard and don’t ever give up on a ball. Tonight was no different. Our boys came out, played well, and matched English’s energy from the jump,” Classical Head Coach Chris LeBlanc said. “Tonight was really a team effort. We played well in almost every phase of the game. Maybe the only exception was our serve game, we made far too many errors and allowed English to hang around.”
Lynn Classical are one win away from clinching the state tournament.
Track and field
The Greater Boston League Championship was held in Somerville on Monday. Lynn English’s Madisen McHale had a good day, setting a personal record. McHale took part in the 4X400 relay team alongside Danivel Diroche, Laisha Mercedes, and Lilian Idowu and finished with a time of 4:38 to secure second place.
The 4X100 team Janise Cooper, Dely Assade, Jade Quero, and Danivel Diroche ran a 54.50 which was good enough for third place.
