Lynn Classical’s baseball team (11-2) jumped ahead by two runs in the first inning of Saturday’s game against Bishop Fenwick (4-13). From there, it was smooth sailing at Fraser Field with the Rams winning 5-0.

Braeden Ohannesian (3 IP), Colin Hart (2), and Rolky Brea (2) combined for a six-hit shutout and nine strikeouts. Christian Figueroa and Boo DiSaia drove in the runs, while Ronal Brea collected two walks and two runs scored.

As of Sunday, tournament-bound Classical ranked No. 24 in the MIAA’s Division 2 power rankings. Fenwick checked in at No. 42 in Division 3.

BASEBALL

Gloucester 9
Marblehead 3

The Magicians (7-8) wrapped up a two-game weekend Sunday, but were reeled in by the Fishermen after seven innings. Colt Wales connected on two of Marblehead’s six hits, while EJ Wyman compiled two RBI.

Marblehead 3
Swampscott 1

Marblehead took down its traditional archrival Saturday behind Carter Sahagian’s complete-game victory. He faced a bases-loaded situation in the seventh inning, but escaped. The Magicians’ offense was led by Wales (2 H), Cam Quigley (2 H), Greyson Leventhal (RBI), Wyman (RBI), and Sahagian (RBI).

The Big Blue were guided by Caden Ross, Michael Collins, Jamison Ford, and Nick Berube, all of whom collected hits.

Peabody 2
Swampscott 1

After 10 long innings, the Tanners escaped Swampscott at Fraser Field Sunday night. Jariel Tolentino and Mike Murphy roped two hits apiece, while Joey Sinibaldi picked up the late win for Peabody.

SOFTBALL

Lynn Classical 20
Malden 9

Nevaeh Eth secured her 100th career hit as the Rams rolled over Malden. Eth was 3-for-4 with four RBI and a pair of home runs. Also doing damage were Aysia Olaes (3-for-4, HR, 3 R, 3 RBI), Mia Duncan (4 H), McKenna Duncan (3-for-4, 3B), and Kaycie Kelter, who connected on her first varsity hit.

BOYS LACROSSE

Pentucket 10
Swampscott 6

Despite scoring four goals in the fourth quarter, it wasn’t enough for Swampscott to dig out of its early hole. Pentucket netted five first-quarter goals en route to a road win. Swampscott was led by Jason Rothwell (2 goals), Chase Russo (2 goals), Tyler Ostroff (goal), Liam Keaney (2 assists), and Luke Michigan (goal). Timmy Sheehan saved 11 shots, while Michigan won 12 of 17 face-offs.

GIRLS LACROSSE

Lexington 11
Peabody 10

Ally Bettencourt ripped a hat trick and dished out an assist, but the Tanners met their match Saturday. Peabody trailed by six goals in the third quarter before storming back.

“Then, the defensive core of Maia Davis, Connie Patturelli, Sophia Galbiati, Sydney Angland, and Caitlin Snow played lockdown defense and limited Lexington to only three goals over the remaining two quarters,” said Peabody Coach Michelle Roach.

TRACK AND FIELD

Lynnfield’s boys competed in Saturday’s Henry Sheldon Meet at Triton Regional High School. The Pioneers scored 58 points – good for fifth overall – with Nick Kelter breaking a meet record in the triple jump with a leap of 44-4. Eli Mendese secured a first-place finish with a 6-2 high jump.
