You know what I’ve been thinking? Home courts. Enemy courts. It really doesn’t matter for Marblehead’s boys tennis team.
With nearly-perfect victories against Beverly (5-0 final), Hamilton-Wenham (4-1), Swampscott (4-1), and Winthrop (5-0) last week, Marblehead upped its record to 12-1 and 10-0 in the Northeastern Conference.
Not bad.
As of Tuesday morning’s MIAA power rankings, the Red and Black checked in at No. 11 in Division 2.
Leading the efforts have been Etan Farfel, Jayden Janock, TJ Kelly, Ty Cooper, Alex Boehning, Austin Bacon, Quinn Fletcher, Matthew Sherf, Leo Winocour, Adam Loughlin, and Filip Wabno.
Rain impending – can’t it just go away, come back another day? – Marblehead takes on Salem, Malden Catholic, Gloucester, Newburyport, and Lynnfield to wrap up the regular season.
To Coach Elisabeth Foukal and the Magicians – who have clinched the Northeastern Conference title – good week.
Let’s see what else they can serve up. Get it, serve?
