Talk about a happy Friday. Lynn Classical fans went home happy after the varsity baseball and softball teams secured victories against Everett.
The baseball team (13-3) got things started and took down host Everett, 10-0. Rolky Brea (6 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 8 K) put on a show from the bump, helping his own cause with a hit and two runs scored.
“Rolky pitched great today,” said Classical Coach Jason Rogato. “He attacked the strike zone and got ahead often. He kept their hitters off-balance and let our bats get going early. We have a lot of games this week. He helped our pitching staff by eating up innings today.”
The Rams received help from Ronal Brea (2-for-4, 3 RBI), Dami Munoz (2-for-3, R, RBI), and Christian Figueroa (2-for-4, 3 R, RBI).
As for softball action, Classical escaped Everett in a 12-11 thriller.
“Everett had the tying run on third base with two outs and freshman Emma Pento made a huge play at third to seal the win,” said Classical Coach Joe Morin.
Also contributing were Nevaeh Eth (3-for-4, 3 R, 3 RBI), Chloe Corbett (2-for-4, 2 RBI), Brooke Braswell (2 RBI), and Aysia Olaes (2 RBI).
The win snapped a six-game losing streak for Classical.
