LYNN — The Parade Committee of the Lynn Veterans’ Council is soliciting donations to mitigate the cost of the 2026 North Shore Veterans and First Responders Parade, which will be held on Sept. 20 at 1 p.m.

Lynn Veterans’ Council will be hosting the event to celebrate the 250th birthday of America, remember the 25th anniversary of the 9/11 attack on the World Trade Center, and the 25th anniversary of the Global War on Terror, according to the press release.

The Parade Committee will be seeking donations in order to make the event fun and enjoyable for the North Shore community, with the goal of remembering the sacrifices of the veterans and first responders, both past and present. The committee is currently seeking donations in any amount that people can afford to give.

Individuals who donate $1,000 or more will receive a certificate of donor recognition and two seats in the review stand. Residents interested in donating can make a check payable to: Lynn Veterans’ Council (for the 2026 parade), and mail it to Lynn Veterans’ Council, P.O. Box 8271, 245 Maple Street, Lynn.

The parade route will start at the Lynn North Shore Community College, and will proceed and turn left onto Washington Street, then turn right onto Market Street. It will then proceed onto North Common Street and will also include stops at Franklin Street, Boston Street, and Stetson Street before ending at the Manning Field parking lot.

Chairman of the Parade Committee David Solimine Sr. commented on the upcoming event and the committee’s work to solicit donations to help with the cost of the parade.

“The Lynn Veterans’ Services will be hosting a wonderful parade — and it’s just a wonderful activity. We’re honoring all of the veterans of the North Shore, all the first responders and it’s going to be a beautiful tribute to them,” Solimine said. “We just got a wonderful group of people working on it.”
