LYNN — Multiple reports came in over the past few days stating that there had been a disturbance at the St. Jean’s Cemetery.

A post on Facebook stated that multiple graves had been knocked over and messed with. It read that stones were broken and lying on the ground. The poster notified police and also observed that around 20 graves had been struck by the vandals.

A tip was also sent to The Item stating that gravestones had been knocked over. The tip noted that the graves were very visibly vandalized.

Some headstones had been toppled over, crosses snapped off, and some were completely knocked off their bases.

Police were notified of the issue, but did not have further information.
