SAUGUS — The Saugus Planning Board will hold a meeting on Thursday, May 29, 2025 at 7 p.m. at the Saugus Town Hall Auditorium at which the public can learn more about the proposed article to amend the town’s zoning bylaws to create an MBTA Communities Multi-Family Overlay District in order to comply with Massachusetts General Laws.
During this meeting, the Planning Board will hold a public hearing to consider Article 1 on the third special Town Meeting warrant. Article 1 will be taken up during the special Town Meeting scheduled for Monday, June 2, 2025 at 7:30 p.m. at the Saugus Town Hall Auditorium.
This article seeks to establish an MBTA Communities Multi-Family Overlay District per the requirements of the MBTA Communities Act, which mandates that cities and towns in Massachusetts establish statutory-required zoning districts.
Residents are welcome to attend the Planning Board public hearing to see a presentation on the MBTA Communities Multi-Family Overlay District. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions about the proposed article.
