To the editor:
In case you missed former President Donald Trump’s message to the American people, here is what he conveyed on his Truth Social account:
“Happy Memorial Day to all, including the scum who spent the last four years trying to destroy our country through warped, radical-left minds — all protected by these hating judges who suffer from an ideology that is sick and very dangerous to our country. Hopefully, the United States Supreme Court and compassionate judges throughout the land will save us from the decisions of the monsters who want our country to go to hell.”
Other talking points:
Trump is on Elon Musk’s bad list.
Trump’s Middle East visit was for personal gain, along with others who had interests in the region — did he forget Israel?
He received a Boeing 747 as a gift from Qatar.
He made millions from cryptocurrency.
Asked by a reporter, “Will you honor the Constitution?” Trump responded, “Well, I do not know; I am not a lawyer!” Perhaps he forgot the oath he took twice at his inauguration.
His homeland security chief did not know the meaning of habeas corpus.
“Little Marco”: I saw him on TV being grilled by Congress on immigration issues. He spoke so fast the questioner could not interject. Then he waved his arms — end of story! The tough guy graduated from Trump’s boot camp.
Trump wore his MAGA hat while addressing cadets at West Point’s graduation ceremony, taking another dig at the previous administration. Hey, Pete, why didn’t you whisper in his ear that wearing that hat was inappropriate? Maybe because he looked scared to death.
RFK Jr.? Don’t get me started. A few weeks back, someone asked him a question. His response was, “Don’t take advice from me.” Sorry I asked.
Everyone in the DOJ was, at one time, his personal attorney.
He is creating his own laws, reminding me of an English king.
Criminals just ask for a pardon.
His enemies list is so long he needs to hire more investigators.
Harvard University? Was it your mission to get back at senior official Penny Pritzker’s family because a hotel deal in the 1990s fell through when you didn’t uphold your commitment and were bought out? You weren’t happy at all.
Trump said, “I do not know what happened to Putin; he has gone crazy!” Putin’s spokesman responded that Trump is experiencing an emotional overload. Do they know something we don’t?
Summary:
Trump has no one to keep him in line, unlike in his first administration. Just look at his appointees — they were confirmed by our Congress.
Speaking of Congress, that body no longer has a voice; it’s all in Trump’s hands.
The U.S. Supreme Court has essentially given him free rein, and there is nothing we can do about it.
Did I forget to mention the big, beautiful bill? One line item requests that no one in the administration be held in contempt of court. If they ignore a judge’s ruling, nothing can be done.
Whoever signed up for this, here’s what you have so far.
Note: A roadside stand may be coming to your town soon. You’ll never know what your dollars can buy — watch out for the grand opening; fighter jets will be part of the celebration.
Stay tuned. I’m sure there will be more.
