SAUGUS — Driving down Route 1 in Saugus, there’s one thing everyone notices: chicken shops. Residents can add one more to their lists as Raising Cane’s had its long-awaited opening Tuesday.

Fry Cook and Cashier, a title worn by all employees, and Regional Vice President Nick Sandilands, was excited for the restaurant to finally open.

“We are excited to open here in Saugus. It’s a great community, and we’re happy to be here to serve our perfect costs to our customers. I know this restaurant is probably the one I’ve been asked about the most in the area, so I know the community is really excited,” Sandilands said.

He continued, saying that everyone was always asking when the Saugus spot would be opening.

“So many people traverse around Route 1, so we’re very excited to be here,” he said.

When asked what he’s expecting in the next few days customer-wise, Sandilands said that large crowds are typically a part of their openings.

“We’re definitely expecting large crowed coming to the opening. It’s part of what our openings are, and part of what our restaurants are like. We’re very, very busy,” he said.

Sandilands said that the words “One Love,” which can be seen on the building and in the restaurant, stands for their chicken fingers, which are their one love at Raising Cane’s.

“We have a very focused menu. Chicken fingers, fries, toast, coleslaw, and our Cane’s sauce. We’re very focused on making sure our chicken fingers are perfect every time. We also give beck to our local communities and participate in different engagements,” he said.

One example Sandilands mentioned was the Mom’s Cancer Fighting Angels Touch a Truck, which Raising Cane’s had a booth at.

“We have plenty more engagements coming up, so look to see us out in the community and giving back,” he said.
