With a final record of 11-9 from Coach Geoff Beckett and company, Thursday evening marked the end for Swampscott’s boys lacrosse team. The No. 15 Big Blue fell, 14-6, against second-seeded Weston in the Division 4 Round of 16. Swampscott picked up a Round-of-32 win against No. 18 Fairhaven Monday. Weston punched its Round-of-8 ticket and will play No. 7 Manchester-Essex (TBD).

No. 9 Lynnfield trailed by as many as 8-2 before taking a fourth-quarter lead in Division 4 action, but the Pioneers fell short in a Round-of-16 heartbreaker. Littleton’s Zach Milner beat his man before firing the ball into the top corner of the net with five seconds remaining in the game. Matthew Clark led the Tigers with six goals.

Coach Pat Lamusta’s Pioneers checked out with a record of 13-7. Lynnfield defeated No. 24 Bourne, 21-9, in the Round of 32 last Friday. Littleton takes on top-ranked Cohasset in the Round of 8 (TBD).

St. John’s Prep 5
Needham 0

In search of another Division 1 title, the top-ranked Eagles (20-0) flew over No. 8 Needham behind singles wins from Rudr Malayya, Jack Prokopis, and Luke Free. The Prep will battle No. 5 Concord-Carlisle in the semifinals (TBD).
