BURLINGTON — The St. John’s Prep lacrosse team continued its dominant Division 1 tournament run Wednesday. The No. 2 Eagles – who have outscored postseason opponents, 58-12, across four games – took down No. 3 Lincoln-Sudbury, 12-5, in the semifinals held at Burlington High.
With a 21-1 record and state title to defend, Coach John Pynchon’s program can add to its collection in Saturday’s championship game against top-ranked Boston College High at Massachusetts Maritime Academy (TBD).
It’s the fourth time in five years that St. John’s Prep and BC High will square off in the title game.
The Prep’s offense was led by Beckett Lee (3 goals), while Mattheus DuPlessis made seven saves and allowed just three goals.
Proving its offense is just about as versatile as it gets, The Prep received goals from 10 players: Lee, Madden McGowan (2 assists), Cam McCarthy, Mac Crawford, Josh Barton, Luke Kelly, JP Sullivan, Jackson Quigley, Josh Haarmann, and Ryan McCarthy.
McGowan also dished out two assists. Face-off ace Will Crawford won 15 of 18 draws.
