Animal Control

A report of animal control at 8:39 a.m. on Shamrock Street. Caller reported a feral cat had given birth in his pop-up carport. He stated she was very aggressive and would not allow anyone to approach to help. Services rendered; a report at 9:04 a.m. on Ellsworth Road. A dog owner left a voicemail advising that she was returning a call. Services rendered; a report at 9:45 a.m. on Rockdale Avenue. A mastiff was running around and now standing at an open door. Services rendered; a rapport at 9:50 a.m. at the Police Department on Allens Lane. Services rendered; a report at 5:22 p.m. at Sports Medicine North on Essex Center Drive. A dog was locked in a car. Services rendered.    

Assist Citizen

A report of citizen assistance at 8:26 a.m. Wednesday on Chestnut Street. Party believed to have found drugs in his apartment. It was just ashes. Services rendered; a report at 8:28 a.m. on Margaret Road. Referred citizen to district court. Services rendered; a report at 2:51 p.m. at Oliveira’s Steak House on Walnut Street. There was a report of threats.

Brush Fire

A report of a brush fire at 5:15 p.m. Wednesday at Boston Children’s Hospital on Centennial Drive. Referred to other agency. 

Motor Vehicles

A report of a motor vehicle accident at 7:57 a.m. Wednesday on Lowell Street. It was a minor accident with no injuries. Investigated; a report at 10:19 a.m. at Tropical Smoothie Cafe on Andover Street. It was an accident with airbag deployment. There were no injuries or entrapment. Vehicle towed; a report at 1:54 p.m. on Lowell Street. It was a minor accident with no injuries or airbags. Investigated; a report at 2:39 p.m. on Brooksby Village Drive. Investigated; a report at 4:45 p.m. on Centennial Drive. Callers reported a three-car accident. Investigated; a report at 4:51 p.m. on Blaney Avenue. There were no injuries. Services rendered; a report at 6:02 p.m. on Central Street. It was a minor accident. Investigated.  

Reports of motor vehicle stops at 2:36 a.m. Wednesday on Andover Street at Cross Street, 7:22 a.m. on Newbury Street, 7:30 a.m. on Newbury Street, 2:36 p.m. on Newbury Street, 2:44 p.m. on Central Street, 3:06 p.m. at Peabody District Court on Lowell Street, 3:32 p.m. on Central Street at Jacobs Street, and 5:14 p.m. on Washington Street, 6:28 p.m. on Newbury Street.

A report of a suspicious motor vehicle at 6:05 p.m. on Pleasant Street at Holten Street. No action required. 

Neighborhood Dispute

A report of a neighborhood dispute at 12:26 p.m. on Truman Road. Investigated; a report at 2:12 p.m. on Jacobs Street. It was a landlord-tenant dispute. Peace restored; a report at 5:15 p.m. on Veterans Memorial Drive. Investigated.   

Suspicious Activity

A report of suspicious activity at 3:29 a.m. Wednesday at 7-Eleven on Lowell Street. Investigated.  

Traffic Hazard

A report of a traffic hazard at 1:02 p.m. on Bartholomew Street at Nathans Way. A paving truck was blocking a lane of traffic. Services rendered. 

SAUGUS

Alarm

A report of a burglar alarm at 8:43 a.m. Wednesday at Lilac Dental on Broadway. Accidental/defective alarm; a report at 1:44 p.m. on Whittier Avenue. Accidental/defective alarm; a report at 3:36 p.m. at Oaklandvale Elementary School on Main Street. Building appears to be secure; a report at 10:07 p.m. on Homeland Circle. Accidental/defective alarm; a report at 11:42 p.m. at Hockey Town USA. Building appears to be secure.   

Animal Complaints

A report of an animal complaint at 6:38 a.m. Wednesday at the Saugus Senior Center on Central Street. Caller reported a loose dog near the address. Area search negative; a report at 1:30 p.m. on Alfred Road. ACO investigated; a report at 2:04 p.m. on Mersea Street. ACO was called for a loose dog. Services rendered.  

Assist Citizen

A report of citizen assistance at 3:32 p.m. Wednesday on the Salem Turnpike. Caller reported he was locked in behind the Flyers Club gate. Services rendered. 

Disturbances

A report of a disturbance at 1:33 p.m. Wednesday at Belmonte STEAM Academy on Dow Street. Belmonte reported several kids behind the school acting unruly and refusing to leave the property. Dispersed gathering; a report at 3:15 p.m. on Broadway. Caller reported harassment from a neighbor. Services rendered; a report at 7:47 p.m. at Essex Landing on Broadway. Caller reported a male yelling at people and asking them for money. Investigated, nothing found; a report at 10:10 p.m. on Central Street at School Street. Caller reported a male and female fighting in the middle of the street. Investigated; a report at 10:14 p.m. at Evans Elementary School on E Denver Street. Caller reported that a group of teenagers was out on the basketball courts past operating hours. Peace restored.   

Hazardous Road Condition

A report of a hazardous road condition at 11:13 a.m. Wednesday on Essex Street at Felton Street. Officer reported gravel in the roadway. DPW notified.

Motor Vehicles

A report of a motor vehicle accident at 10:48 a.m. Wednesday at Walgreens on Broadway. Caller reported an accident with injury. There were two vehicles involved. Report taken; a report at 10:53 a.m. at Main Street South on Broadway. State police were on scene and requesting EMS. Clear, no EMS.

A report of a motor vehicle leaving the scene of an accident at 8:09 a.m. Wednesday on Springdale Avenue. Caller reported that a white Dodge had struck his vehicle and fled the area. Report taken; a report at 4:20 p.m. at Red Roof Inn on Broadway. Caller reported that a vehicle struck her car and fled. State police notified; a report at 4:39 p.m. at Target on Lynn Fells Parkway. Caller reported that someone had hit her rear bumper while she was parked in the Target parking lot. Services rendered; a report at 9:30 p.m. at Polcari’s on Broadway. Caller reported her vehicle was struck while she was inside the restaurant. Report taken.  

Suspicious Activities

A report of suspicious activity at 1:41 a.m. Wednesday on Gilway. Officer reported a garage door open. Made contact with the homeowner, and there was no issue. Investigated; a report at 10:37 p.m. on Ballard Street. Caller reported a male attempting to break into an office. Area check performed.  

Suspicious Person

A report of a suspicious person at 8:25 a.m. Wednesday on Venice Avenue. A man called to report two people walking around his backyard. Investigated. 

Unwanted Party

A report of an unwanted party at 8:59 p.m. Wednesday at Wood Spring Extended Stay on Broadway. Caller reported a male who had been asked to leave and refused to do so. Services rendered. 

Wires Down

A report of wires down at 2:54 p.m. Wednesday on Bow Street. Caller reported a low-hanging wire. Notification made.
