SWAMPSCOTT — U.S. Rep. Seth Moulton will be joining the “No Kings on King’s Beach” protest June 14 (Flag Day) as the featured speaker, which will be hosted by North Shore Indivisible (NSI), a grassroots organization that represents the North Shore.
The rally will kick off from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Humphrey Street, located between Eastern Avenue and Mission on The Bay (141 Humphrey St.). More than 250 community members are expected to attend the event, which will also feature live music.
Moulton will be speaking at noon in Linscott Park, according to the press release.
“President Trump is planning a Soviet-style military parade in Washington, D.C. that day. This display of might is intended to intimidate opponents and solidify his image as a strongman while squandering tens of millions of taxpayer dollars; we won’t stand by while that happens,” the press release said.
No Kings on Kings Beach is one of thousands of counterprotests that are being held across the country on Flag Day, which also falls on President Donald Trump’s 79th birthday, to “reject Trump’s authoritarian vision and show the wannabe king what democracy looks like.”
