LYNN– The Boys & Girls Club of Lynn held its Send a Kid to Camp raffle fundraiser on June 12. More than 140 people attended the event at Camp Creighton in Middleton.

The event, coordinated by Erica Sousa, the club’s Communications and Special Events Director, raised more than $70,000 through sponsorships and ticket sales. The funds will be used to support the summer camp programs.

Premier sponsors included: Eastern Bank and McGrath Enterprises. Dinner sponsors were Deiulis Brothers Construction, Joel & Mary Abramson, and Wood & Associates Insurance Agency.

There were special performances and appearances by the club’s dance team, Youth of the Year Divine Egbuta, and past campers. There were 10 lucky winners, including the grand prize raffle winner of $10,000, Ashley Smith.

Guests enjoyed carnival-themed food, including popcorn, cotton candy, sausages, drinks, music, games, as well as a caricature artist on site creating art pieces for the guests to take home.

“The funds raised at this event will provide summer camp opportunities and programming to youth who may not have otherwise been able to access them,” said Boys & Girls Club Executive Director Brian Therrien. “We appreciate the support of our sponsors, event committee, board members and staff who ensure the opportunities to the children of Lynn and the surrounding communities by making it a huge success.”
