BOSTON – Justin David Gaglio, 51, pleaded guilty in federal court on June 16 to threatening to murder an elected official and their family.
Gaglio was arrested and charged in October 2024 for transmitting interstate threats, after being accused of contacting the elected official beginning in or around January 2023 through online submissions on their website.
Between January 2023 and September 2024, Gaglio submitted over 80 separate messages through that platform; sometimes several within minutes, Massachusetts U.S. Attorney’s office said.
The statement said that on Sept. 8, 2024, Gaglio sent a message threatening to “violently murder” the elected official and their family.
Gaglio faces up to 20 years in prison for the charge of transmitting interstate threats.
The case is currently being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Alathea E. Porter of the Criminal Division. Sentencing is scheduled for Sept. 9.
