MARBLEHEAD– The Abbot Public Library Foundation warmly invites the Marblehead community to a special Summer Literary Reception in the beautiful library Courtyard, Carten Gallery, and Event Center on Sunday, July 6, 4 p.m. – 6 p.m.
Join us for an inspiring afternoon celebrating the written word, visual art, and the joy of storytelling. Enjoy light refreshments, mingle with fellow literature and art lovers, and support the Abbot Public Library Foundation’s ongoing mission to promote literacy, creativity, and community.
Registration is required – please register at tinyurl.com/APLF-Reception. Bestselling author Mary Alice Monroe will give an exclusive reading from her highly anticipated new novel, “Where the Rivers Merge ” – a moving story of connection, resilience, and the natural world. The first 30 guests to arrive will receive a free signed copy of the book.
The event will also feature a silent art auction showcasing original works by local artists Elaine Purdy, Ginny von Rueden, Caroline Wojtas, Acadia (Kay) Mezzofanti, Bob Hendricks and Steve McClure, all inspired by and celebrating the physicality of books – their texture, weight, pages, and presence. Art will be on view for bids in the Carten Gallery at Abbot Public Library starting June 2. For more information,
