Annual Garden Art Walk returns to Swampscott

Zach Laird

June 22, 2025 by Zach Laird

SWAMPSCOTT — Swampscott Recreation will be hosting the annual Garden Art Walk Event on June 28 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., where it will blend music, art and fun activities for residents of all ages to enjoy.

During the event, there will be complimentary shuttles that start at the Senior Center (located on 200R Essex Street, behind the high school), as well as other local parking lots, where they will cruise community members to the various participating neighborhoods in town.

Stops during the event include: Swampscott High School, the Commuter Rail, Swampscott Public Library, Phillips Park, Lexington Circle, Puritan Road, Atlantic Avenue, and Beach Bluff Avenue.

The annual Garden Art Walk celebrates the diversity of artists, gardens, businesses, and neighbors across our magnificent seaside town, described as a “beautiful blend of self-guided garden walks, open studios, and exciting enrichment activities,” according to the press release.

“Swampscott Recreation is honored to take on the responsibility of hosting the annual Garden Art Walk this year. ReachArts created the Garden Art Walk and ran it with much success. Our mission is to build on ReachArts’ legacy by continuing this enriching, community-centered event,” the press release said.

Last year, over 50 gardens with artists, musicians, and activities took part in the festivities; however, this time, Swampscott Recreation expects a bigger turnout. The event is free for all community members to enjoy. Sponsors for the event include Whole Foods Market, Terpene Journey, Local Co., and Staples.
