LYNN — The Floating Bridge Pond Association is proud to announce the return of its annual tradition: a vibrant display of American flags lining Buchanan Bridge for the summer season. This beloved local effort celebrates patriotism, honors those who have served our country, and brings the neighborhood and city together for the Fourth of July holiday.

Each flag represents a tribute to the spirit of unity and civic pride that defines our city. The project reflects the association’s mission to preserve the natural beauty, wildlife, and civic traditions of the Floating Bridge Pond area. Many people sponsored a flag in memory of a lost relative or friend who served our country so proudly.
“This display is more than decoration — it’s a visible reminder of the values that bind our community,” said Ward 2 City Councilor Obed Matul. Matul also serves as president of the Floating Bridge Pond Association. “We are deeply grateful to those who made this effort possible through their generosity with donations. Donald Castle stepped up and organized the fundraising, which I appreciate.”
“Lynn is such a great community when it comes to events such as this one. Everyone I called said they would help out and donate, without hesitation. We appreciate everyone’s heartfelt contribution to this meaningful display,” said Castle.
With heartfelt appreciation, we thank the following individuals and organizations for their support:
Councilor Dr. Peter Meaney from Broadway Family Dental, Mayor Jared C. Nicholson, District Attorney Paul Tucker, State Sen. Brendan Crighton, State Rep. Dan Cahill, State Rep. Sean Reid, Mark King, Maryjean Halas, Drew and Patricia Russo, Michelle Griffin-Espinoza and Jorge Espinoza, Mary Wright, Honey Amirault, Charlie Gaeta, Sluice Pond Association, Rick Starbard from Rick’s Auto Collision, Councilor Fred Hogan, Councilor Hong Net, Barbara Carlton, Maureen Baker, Donald Deleire from Congress Insurance, Jon Thibault, Jim Cowdell from EDIC, Jack Perry, Janet Rowe, Ann-Marie Leonard, and Marie Bacherman.

The flags will remain on display throughout the summer, serving as a warm welcome to residents and visitors, and as a tribute to those who served our country and support our community.
