LYNN – Two students have been announced as recipients of the Fenwick First Award courtesy of Bishop Fenwick High School. The Fenwick First award recognizes those in the Fenwick community who go “above and beyond.”

Peyton Buksa of the class of 2028 was nominated because “in her one year at Fenwick, (she) has really made her mark!

“She sings with the choir at all the masses and is a dedicated member of the Drama Club’s officers. She is someone anyone could count on. She has jumped right into all the Fenwick activities. She is a two-season athlete. At the same time, she’s been an active member of the Concert Choir and has been involved in all three theatrical productions,” the nomination wrote.

Peyton was also awarded the Algebra I Honors and World History awards at the recent Underclass Awards.

Camila Ixlaj-Martinez of the class of 2028 was nominated because “she exemplifies her faith through her role as an altar server at Fenwick Masses and as a frequent lector at the Daily Mass.”

The nomination continued, “Her maturity and reliability are evident, as she consistently does the right thing. She has a genuine presence that brings out the best in her classmates. I am thankful that she is part of the Fenwick Family.”

Camila also plays soccer and basketball for Fenwick.
