SAUGUS — Saugus’ 10-year-old All-Star team defeated Wyoma, 3-0, in the District 16 winners’ bracket final at Hurd Park Monday.
Saugus scored three runs on six hits, all while shutting down the opposition’s offense.
Marco Owumi (4 IP, 0 ER, 2 K) was the tough-luck loser for Wyoma, while Andrew Newhall threw a scoreless inning with a strikeout.
Owumi (2 H), Newhall, Justin Young, and Zach Stille registered hits, but Wyoma stranded five runners in scoring position.
Wyoma will play the winner of Peabody West-Lynnfield Wednesday (TBD) with a spot in the championship game at stake.
