PEABODY — In an 11-1 final at MacArthur Park Tuesday evening, Peabody West’s 12-year-old All-Star team defeated West Lynn, which was eliminated from the District 16 tournament after its second loss.

“Offensively, everyone pitched in,” said Peabody West Manager Phillip Ragusa. “All 12 batters reached base safely at some point in the game and contributed.”

Peabody West’s Luca Mosca pitched five innings, letting up one hit on a solo home run with no walks. His infield of Owen Skerry at third base, Leo Pietrosanto at shortstop, and Bryce Ragusa at second base played a strong game.

On a positive note for West Lynn, Rudy Mendez smoked a home run over the left-field fence.

“We are proud of these boys and the run they had,” stated a FaceBook post from West Lynn Little League.

Tuesday’s result left Wyoma as the only Lynn team standing in the tournament. Wyoma takes on Peabody Wednesday with first pitch slated for 5:45 p.m. in Swampscott.
