You know what I’ve been thinking? You can’t count out a team just because it suffers a few bumps and bruises. It happens . . .
After starting the summer 0-3 and struggling early, the North Shore Navigators of the New England Collegiate Baseball League (NECBL) sport a 9-14 record and place third in the North Division behind Keene and Upper Valley.
The Navs are 5-5 across their last 10 games, but more recently, rattled off four consecutive wins.
They took down Upper Valley (6-3 final), Keene twice in a doubleheader (3-2 and 6-2 finals), and North Adams (10-1) Monday.
That’s 25 runs across four games for the fans at Fraser Field in Lynn – not bad.
Jaydon Aukai Kea leads the Navs with 18 hits and a .305 average, while Brody Dalton leads the team with two home runs and seven RBI. On the mound, Colin Dowdle has collected two wins, while Peabody’s Joe Castrichini leads the team with 14 strikeouts. Sam Parks leads the Navs with eight stolen bases.
Looking to stay hot, North Shore visits the North Adams SteepleCats for a July 4 showdown beginning at 5:30 p.m.
Navs, good week.
