Swampscott — The town released an update on trash pick ups on Tuesday afternoon, noting that both trash trucks will be utilized for trash collections only for the remainder of the week.
“As many of you are aware, trash collection is currently running behind schedule this week. In order to prioritize the timely removal of household waste, both trash trucks will be dedicated to trash collection only for the remainder of the week,” the town said in an online statement.
Residents are asked to refrain from placing recycling curbside for the remainder of the week.
The Department of Public Works, located at 200 Paradise Road, will be open on Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. to assist with the overflow, with containers available for both trash and recycling. The town also asked that residents break down any cardboard boxes.
