July 17, 2025 by Joey Barrett

SALEM — After Wednesday night’s one-run, thrilling victory against Peabody in the Section 4 tournament (age 10-12), Thursday didn’t come with the same success for Swampscott, which fell to Danvers National, 9-1, at Forest River Park.

Thursday’s later game – 30-minute lightning delay included – saw District 16 champion Peabody win, 7-6, in walk-off fashion against Wakefield.

Danvers National takes on Peabody Friday at 7:30 p.m., while Swampscott squares off with Wakefield earlier in the evening at 5:30 p.m.

Saturday’s championship game is slated for 2:30 p.m. All games are at Forest River Park.

Sectional records

Danvers National: 2-0
Swampscott: 1-1
Peabody: 1-1
Wakefield: 0-2
