LYNN

Arrests

Miguel Altagracia Ubiera, 46, of Johnson Street was arrested for charges of unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and improper turn.

Luis Espinosa, 44, of Parkland Avenue was arrested for charges of armed assault to murder, armed assault to rob, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, violation of community parole supervision, carrying a dangerous weapon, and drug possessions.

Gilberto Figueroa of Huss Court was arrested for charges of drug distribution and drug possession.

Peter Francesi, 37, of Willow Street was arrested for charges of assault and assault and battery of an elderly or disabled person.

Damien Hamler, 47, of Locust Street was arrested for charges of operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license, disorderly conduct, and negligent operation of a motor vehicle.

Dustin Holmes, 36, of Russel Street was arrested for charges of destruction of property and breaking and entering.

Zaul Merida, 27, of Pearly Street was arrested for charges of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, and defacing property.

Disturbance

A report of a disturbance at 1:46 a.m. Wednesday on Common Street.

Larceny

A report of larceny at 9:17 a.m. Wednesday on Boston Street.

Motor Vehicles

Reports of motor vehicle accidents at 12:24 a.m. Wednesday on Liberty Street and Washington Street, 3:19 a.m. on Chestnut Street, 7:19 a.m. on Washington Street, and 10:05 a.m. on Federal Street.

Reports of motor vehicle stops at 7:24 a.m., 7:49 a.m., and 7:59 a.m. Wednesday on Lynnfield Street, 7:34 a.m. on Dartmouth Street and Lynnfield Street, 8:18 a.m. and 8:28 a.m. on Broadway and Magnolia Avenue, 8:57 a.m. on Washington Street, 9:05 a.m. on Laighton Street and Washington Street, 9:50 a.m. on Boston Street, 10:03 a.m. on Broadway and Chestnut Street, 10:16 a.m. on Chestnut Street, and 10:28 a.m. on Allerton Street and Chestnut Street.

A report of a motor vehicle problem at 9:12 a.m. Wednesday on Boston Street.

A report of motor vehicle vandalism at 9:21 a.m. Wednesday on Sheehan Road.

A report of a motor vehicle parking violation at 6:11 a.m. Wednesday on Congress Street.

Trespassing​​

A report of trespassing at 2:29 a.m. Wednesday on Boston Street.

 

PEABODY

Arrests
Two arrests were made Wednesday. At 12:58 a.m., Alfred Cochrane, 40, of Lynn, was taken into custody on Main Street for an outstanding warrant. Later, at 1:11 p.m., Marian Merluzzo, 67, of Peabody, was arrested at Warren Street and Drake Way following a rollover crash. She was charged with OUI-liquor, unlicensed operation, and marked lanes violation.

Alarms
Officers responded to several burglar alarms throughout the day. At 12:34 a.m., a motion alarm was triggered at Peabody Bread & Baking Company on Main Street. Officers found all doors secure. Later alarms were investigated at various businesses, including 74 Summit St, 11 Park St, PreOwned Auto Logistics on Jubilee Drive, Spaulding Outpatient Center on Centennial Drive, and In the Game on Lowell Street. All incidents were either deemed accidental or unfounded.

Medical Emergencies
Peabody officers and EMS responded to numerous medical calls on July 16. These included falls, diabetic complications, difficulty breathing, and a seizure. Transports were made from multiple locations including Walnut Street, Dale Street, Connolly Park, Century House, JC Penney, and others. Several calls also resulted in patients refusing medical attention.

Motor Vehicle Accidents
Police responded to multiple crashes, including a hit-and-run at Buxton Street, a crash involving construction damage on Central Street, and a rollover at Warren and Drake Way. A tractor-trailer at Capone’s Restaurant on Summit Street struck three parked vehicles and a sign. Most incidents involved no injuries and were documented accordingly.

Motor Vehicle Stops
Officers issued a series of verbal and written warnings for violations such as red-light infractions, marked lanes, unsafe operation, and number plate violations. These stops occurred throughout the day on roads including Lowell Street, Walnut Street, and Newbury Street.

Animal Control
Several dog-related complaints were addressed. Two Pomeranian-Shih Tzu mixes escaped from Bartholomew Street. Another dog was reported missing on Cedar Grove Avenue but was already in PPD custody. Additional cases involved recovered pets, attacks, and follow-up licensing checks.

Suspicious Activity
Suspicious activity was reported at the police department and a residence on Mt. Pleasant Drive, where a male in black approached a home under the guise of pest control. Officers made contact with the individual and advised him of proper soliciting procedures.

Disturbances and Complaints
Peace was restored at a road rage incident on Ethel Avenue, a loud music complaint on Oak Street, and a group of motorbike riders near Washington Street. Officers also responded to a neighborhood dispute on Truman Road over a doormat and a harassment complaint on Trask Road.

Lost/Found Property
Two property reports were filed. A wallet was believed to have been lost at the Wardhurst on Lynnfield Street, and a Segway was reported stolen from Mt. Pleasant Drive.

Civil Matters and Assistance
Officers assisted residents with custody disputes, harassment claims, missing packages, and other concerns at various locations, including Allens Lane, the Police Department lobby, and Walnut Street.

 

SAUGUS

Arrest

Mariana Pinheiro Costa Silva, over 17, of Overlook Ridge, was arrested at 5:10 p.m. for a charge of a straight warrant. 

Alarm

A report of a burglar alarm at 5:42 a.m. Wednesday on Lark Avenue. No police service necessary. A report at 6:09 p.m. at Extra Space Storage on Central Street. Services rendered.  

Animal Complaint

A report of an animal complaint at 10:35 a.m. Wednesday on Woodland Avenue. Caller reported her neighbor locked their cat in a hot shed in a travel case over the past few days. Investigated. 

Assist Citizen

A report of citizen assistance at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at DSW on Broadway. Services rendered. 

Bylaw Violation

A report of a bylaw violation at 11:49 a.m. Wednesday at Savers on Broadway. Caller reported that a party was illegally dumping trash in the woods. Investigated. 

Disturbance

A report of a disturbance at 6:14 p.m. Wednesday at Kowalski Insurance Company on Lincoln Avenue. Caller reported a male loitering in the area who had been asked to leave several businesses. Peace restored.

DPW Complaint

A report of a DPW complaint at 6:26 p.m. on Winter Street at Lincoln Avenue. Referred to other agency. 

Motor Vehicles

A report of a break and entry into a motor vehicle at 3:37 p.m. on Granite Court. Report taken. 

A report of a motor vehicle accident at 1:33 p.m. Wednesday at Kelly’s on Lynn Fells Parkway. Caller reported a three-car crash. One reported neck pain. Report taken. 

A report of a motor vehicle stop at 7:33 a.m. Wednesday on Auburn Street. Verbal warning. A report at 6:32 p.m. on Summer Street at Main Street. Citation issued.  

A report of a suspicious motor vehicle at 10:35 p.m. on Main Street. Investigated. 

Mutual Aid

A report of mutual aid from the fire department at 5:25 p.m. Wednesday at Melrose FD Headquarters on Main Street. Services rendered. 

Noise Complaint

A report of a noise complaint at 11:34 p.m. Wednesday on East Denver Street. Services rendered. 

Property Damage

A report of property damage at 7:47 p.m. Wednesday on Auburn Street. Investigated. 

Suspicious Activity

A report of suspicious activity at 2:50 a.m. Wednesday on Oaklandvale Avenue. Caller reported a suspicious van operated by a male that approached her neighbor’s house. Investigated, nothing found. 

Wires Down

A report of wires down at 6:07 p.m. Wednesday on Winter Street. Referred to other agency.
