Lynnfield — The Police Department and A Healthy Lynnfield are partnering up to celebrate a National Night Out at the Middle School on Aug. 5, a reassertion of commitment to a strong and safe community.
The evening will start at 6:30 p.m. with a softball game, featuring the Lynnfield Police Department vs. Lynnfield Youth Softball coaches.
Attendees will enjoy a free cookout sponsored by Bianco Sausages and Kayem, and ice cream sponsored by Hixon Bevilacqua Home Realty.
There will be a K9 display courtesy of the Essex County Sheriff’s Department as well as music courtesy of New England’s Best DJs. Kids will enjoy face painting, races, and other activities.
“National Night Out showcases the vital importance of police-community partnerships and citizen involvement,” A Healthy Lynnfield Program Director Diana DeLeo said. “When the community and law enforcement work closely together, it benefits everyone in our town.”
A Healthy Lynnfield is a local organization working to prevent substance misuse and to provide access to treatment and recovery resources for those affected in the community.
The town’s third annual National Night Out is a community building event that promotes strong police-community partnerships, to make neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live and work.
“We are excited to partner with A Healthy Lynnfield again for Lynnfield’s third annual National Night Out,” Police Captain Christopher DeCarlo said. “Between the softball game, cookout, and other activities, there is something for everyone to enjoy and we hope to see many Lynnfield residents there.”
