SWAMPSCOTT — Seaglass Village has announced that Anne Quagrello has been named as the nonprofit’s new Executive Director effective Monday.
Quagrello is a resident of the town, an alumni of Swampscott High School, and previously served as the activities coordinator for the Senior Center (located at 200R Essex Street). She also served as the administrative associate for Nonprofit Operations and Consulting Services (NPOC), according to the press release.
President of Seaglass Village Board of Directors Izzy Abrams shared her excitement regarding the development.
“Anne’s qualifications and experience are a perfect match for Seaglass Village… She has the right combination of passion, technical knowhow, and community connections to help us move forward with our potential expansion into Salem,” Abrams said.
Quagrello will be Seaglass Village’s second Executive Director, succeeding Alyce Deveau who will be retiring in September, after working for the organization since its establishment in 2021. Deveau will work with Quagrello to help with the transition of leadership.
Quagrello expressed her readiness to take those first steps into the next chapter of her professional endeavors.
“I am thrilled to be joining Seaglass Village. While at the Senior Center, I built meaningful relationships with residents and developed services that directly supported their independence and wellbeing. I am honored to contribute my experience and passion to Seaglass, and help lead its continued growth and outreach,” Quagrello said.
Vice President and founding member Heidi Whear said that she’s thrilled Quagrello will be the next Executive Director.
“I knew her from when she was at the senior center. She’s very creative and also passionate about helping our seniors, she’s a perfect fit for the nonprofit,” Whear said.
Deveau said that she’s “thrilled to be leaving the group in good hands,” and will be staying on for the time being to help with the transition of leadership.
Seaglass Village is a nonprofit organization that enables older adults in Marblehead, Nahant, and Swampscott to enjoy a healthy quality of life while living independently, by providing volunteer services and social opportunities.
