LYNN — The most recent edition of the Lynn Woods Running Series featured hot, humid conditions as runners navigated their way through the City course.

In the standard 1.59-mile kids’ race, Lynn 11-year-old Avery Macario delivered her best race of the season and captured first place in 13:14.

She was followed by Lynn 8-year-old Lovely Edwards (13:53).

Lynn 8-year-old Patrick Conlon was atop the boys’ division (13:55), followed by ever-so-consistent Parker Beal, a 6-year-old from Lynnfield, who ran in 14:18.

The day also featured the third “Tour de Woods” with trailmaster Rich Lally creating a unique mini tour (2.34 miles) and longer grand tour (5.15 miles).

The mini tour featured a tight, three-way battle between teenagers Franklin Maldonado (Lynn; 18:05), Sean Aloi (Manchester; 18:07), and Robert Tewksbury (Lynn; 18:19).

Veteran runner Erin Hickey Reardon, of Reading, took first place in the women’s division with a time of 21:51. In second place was reliable Giulia Bussone (22:08), of Manchester, while third place belonged to Woburn’s Laura Pomeroy (22:14).

Paul Schell, 87 of Malden, kept on running with a time of 48:45.

The grand tour was won by Lynn’s Rafael Villatoro, nicknamed “Mr. First Place,” who finished in 38:34.

In another down-to-the-wire finish, he bested Swampscott’s Adam Cook (38:44) and Medford’s Martin Bures (39:47).

The first female to cross the finish line was Lynn’s Isabella Carter in 49:16. Beverly’s Ashley Springett placed second in 52:06 with third place belonging to Danvers’ Kristen Smith in 53:45.

Lynn 11-year-old James Wilson IV placed 14th out of 56 finishers with a time of 48:23 (9:24/mile pace).

Next week’s offering features the 4.15-mile “Twin Towers” race, in which runners visit the steep climb to Stone Tower, followed by another steep climb to Steel Tower.
