LYNN — Multiple Lynn Police Officers responded to a report of shots fired near Shepard Street and Warren Street on the evening of Sunday, Aug. 3.
Several police officers arrived at the scene at 32 Shepard Street at approximately 6:57 p.m. Sunday. There, they located a male victim suffering from a gunshot wound on his thigh. The man, who is approximately 45 years old, was described as “conscious and alert” when Lynn police officers arrived at the scene and administered medical aid, according to Northeast Massachusetts Emergency Alerts.
Lynn Police Department Lt. Richard Connick told The Daily Item in a statement that the officers at the scene “performed lifesaving care” on the victim, who was then transported to the Salem hospital shortly after. Upon being transported to the facility, the victim was reported to be in stable condition, according to the Lynn Police Department.
Lynn Police Department officers at the scene also responded to the incident Sunday by taping off the area at Shepard and Warren to keep residents away from the area, establish a crime scene, and gather further evidence for the case.
The location where the incident took place, 32 Shepard Street, is located just south of the Lynn Common Public Park, and just north of the affordable family community Marian Gardens.
Northeast Massachusetts Emergency Alerts reported that the Lynn Police Department was searching for the victim’s suspected shooter on the evening of Aug. 3. The page wrote that a vehicle allegedly wanted in connection with the case was reportedly located in Marblehead on Sunday night.
No arrests have been made for the case at this time, as this is currently an active and ongoing investigation by the Lynn Police Department.
