The Saugus and Lynn Planet Fitness locations, and others across Massachusetts, are joining up with GotSneakers to launch a sneaker recycling campaign from Aug. 9 through Sept. 8.
The campaign will help out local Boys & Girls Clubs, with residents able to donate their gently used sneakers while promoting sustainability.
“Gently used sneakers can be dropped off in the collection bins at participating Planet Fitness locations throughout the month-long campaign. Once collected, the sneakers will be processed by GotSneakers, a national organization that recycles and reuses footwear to reduce landfill waste and promote sustainability,” according to the press release.
All proceeds from the donations will directly benefit the Boys & Girls Clubs to fund essential programs and services for youth.
Donations can be dropped off at the Planet Fitness locations at 50 Boston St., Lynn and 367 Broadway St., Saugus.
