The communities of Marblehead, Nahant and Swampscott are joining forces to collaborate on a “Lemonade Day” event on Aug. 23, sponsored by Grab the Bagel.
All proceeds from the event will go directly toward benefiting the families of girls lost in the flood at Mystic Camp in Texas, according to the event’s flyer. The event also aims to honor Hasbro’s Alan G. Hassenfeld.
A rain date for the event will be on Aug. 24.
The goal is to get community members across the several towns to have 50-75 lemonade stands set up for the event. Kids will be responsible for getting a table and designing their own signs, though cups, recipes and lemonade ingredients will be provided for participants. Kids will either be assigned a spot throughout the communities, or request a spot they prefer.
The price to sponsor a lemonade stand is $25. For anyone interested in signing up to participate, community members are encouraged to email [email protected] to learn more about how to get involved.
