SAUGUS — With the 75th anniversary gala for Kowloon approaching, the restaurant has released a limited-edition sneaker in collaboration with the Joey Fund. The sneakers were designed by Tagz Footwear, an independent footwear brand in Boston.
The sneakers are priced at $350 per pair plus shipping and handling, with the proceeds going toward the Joey Fund.
The restaurant also announced that a four-carat fashion diamond ring valued at $14,000 will be given away in a raffle, courtesy of DePrisco Jewelers. Tickets to enter the raffle are $20 each, and a minimum of 250 tickets must be sold. Proceeds from the raffle will also benefit the Joey Fund.
The Joey Fund is an independent fund that works in partnership with the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. It was established in 1986 in memory of Joey O’Donnell, “a courageous fighter and victim of cystic fibrosis,” according to the fund’s website.
The fund works to provide financial support for patients and research. Through their partnership, “they have created a future for children with cystic fibrosis, and are working even harder to achieve the ultimate goal — a cure for CF and to make cystic fibrosis history.”
These two additions are part of the 75th Diamond Anniversary Gala Block Party on Aug. 20, which will take place from 7 p.m. to midnight.
