To the editor:
Wednesday’s paper — boiling frogs? I am not going to write about that. I am sure we all want to know what is going on — or not going on — on the street next to the common for almost three years now. There has hardly been anyone working there, and there are orange and white barrels everywhere, along with large cement blocks. Do they even know what they are doing? Are they making more parking or sidewalk space? And really, the street does not need to be smaller — it is already bumper to bumper.
Now, the rotary — what is going on with that? Are they decorating it with orange and white barrels, too? No workers have been seen there either.
And then there are the trees — dead and half-dead trees along the sidewalks. Why can’t they get rid of the dead ones and plant new ones? Some streets are being worked on, but they need more attention to fix the holes and bumps in bad condition, in addition to addressing the common and Market Street.
Sincerely,
Nancy J. MacGrath
