To the editor:
I enjoyed reading Joey Barrett’s piece, “Best sports movies anyone?” However, I was surprised he did not mention my all-time favorite sports movie, A League of Their Own.
It tells the true story of a women’s baseball league that operated from 1943 to 1954. The movie features a cast of Hollywood elite — Tom Hanks, Geena Davis, Rosie O’Donnell, Madonna and Angelina Jolie, among others — and brilliantly captures the era in which the games were played.
This is a movie the entire family will enjoy. Do not miss it the next time it is on TV.
