LYNN — This week’s Lynn Woods Running Series featured 133 runners – as well as lots of Lynnfield success through high temperatures,

“The event has no issue with rain, but lightning is a major concern,” said organizer Joe Abelon. “The event is cancelled if lightning is present. It was a close call, as lightning commenced as the last few runners crossed the line.”

The mini-tour race, of 2.7 miles, was won by Lynnfield’s Joel Beal in 21:05.

Nicole Witkov, also of Lynnfield, secured 25th place (50 runners) with a time of 33:00.

The kids’ race, of 1.59 miles, continued to come with exciting finishes. Six-year-old Tim Conlon, of Lynnfield, edged out his sister, Emily, 10, with the duo recording times of 13:40 and 13:42, respectively.

Third place belonged to Lynnfield’s MacKenzie Beal in 13:45. Sixth belonged to Lynnfield’s Parker Beal in 15:35.
