Zach Laird

August 19, 2025 by Zach Laird

SAUGUS — The town is looking to elect a member of the Saugus Contributory Retirement System to the Retirement Board, which will be a three-year term.

All nomination papers must be filed in the Retirement Office on or before 12:00 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 22. The election will be conducted entirely by US Postal service mail. All votes are due in the Retirement Office, located at 25R Main St, no later than Thursday, November 6, 2025, at 6:00pm.

Those who hold membership in the Saugus Contributory Retirement System are eligible to submit their name as a candidate, though they must file nomination papers with the Saugus Retirement Board that contain the signatures of at least 20 members of the System. The signatures will then be verified by Michelle Church, the election officer.

Nomination papers may be obtained at the Saugus Retirement Office, which is located at 25R Main St.

If the Retirement Board determines that more than one candidate has been nominated, the Board shall prepare an Official Election Ballot, a press release noted.

Community members who may have more questions regarding the process are encouraged to reach out to the Saugus Retirement Office at 781-558-2903.
