PorchFest to strike the right notes in Swampscott

August 24, 2025 by Zach Laird

SWAMPSCOTT — The town’s 6th Annual PorchFest will take place on Saturday, Sept. 20, from 12-6 p.m. with a family-friendly celebration of music and creativity for the community, free of charge. The PorchFest team is actively accepting sign-ups for hosts, performers, and even volunteers.

PorchFest is a grassroots event that aims to celebrate both local talent and the community aspect of the neighborhood spirit which originally started back in 2019. Throughout the span of a single afternoon, porches across town will transform into their own live music stages. Both residents and travelers are encouraged to visit from house to house to enjoy a wide variety of musical performances.

The event will feature varying types of music, everything from folk singers to classic rock and soul bands.

Kickoff for the event begins at Linscott Park at noon, with a performance by a lively Blue Big Band. From there, guests can explore musical sets across town, including the Family Porch at Town Hall which will feature a Community Drum Jam and a Pirate Show.

The rain date for the event is Sunday September 21.

For those interested in signing up to participate, community members can visit the link at: http://swampscottporchfest.org/signup/host

As well, any local businesses that may have an interest in sponsoring the event can sign up to be a sponsor by reaching out to the organizers at [email protected]
