Roundup: Peabody golfers bounce back

August 28, 2025 by Joey Barrett

You could say Monday’s 60.5-11.5 loss against Danvers feels like ancient history for Peabody’s varsity golf squad.

That’s because the Tanners bounced back with a 42-30 win against the Salem Witches at Olde Salem Greens Golf Course Thursday.

Playing a more relaxed game, according to coach Peter Cronan, Peabody took care of business behind strong performances from Tristan Joyce, Anthony Mugdano, Ryan Lockhart, Chris Brown, George Grace, and McKenzie Campbell.

The Tanners return Wednesday against Northeastern Conference foe Marblehead. The action is slated for 4 p.m. at Tedesco Country Club.

The Prep (1-0) started hot with a win at Mount Hood Golf Course. Third-year varsity golfer Seamus O’Holleran and Cullen Pasterick – making his varsity debut – led the Eagles with 37s. Jack Carew (38), Zach Enners (39), Jack Moriarty (40), Cole Cullen (40), and Logan Daigle (40) also shot well.

In non-conference competition at Black Swan Golf Club, Marblehead (1-1) suffered its first loss of the season after taking down St. Mary’s in its opener. Joy Meshulam and Bowden Laramie won their matches Thursday, while Tyler Forbes (medalist 39) and Greyson Leventhal drew even for the Magicians.
