Lynnfield Moms Group hosts third annual Touch A Truck

LYNNFIELD – Lynnfield Moms Group (LMG) is hosting its third annual Touch A Truck Saturday, Sept. 27 from 3-5 p.m. at Lynnfield Middle School.

According to LMG board member Alena Jewett, there will once again be fire trucks, police vehicles, dump trucks and excavators. The Lightning McQueen car will also be back this year, which was a big hit last year.

Jewett added that year’s event will still feature a trackless train. This time around, though, the trackless train is firetruck themed. She added there will also still be face painting similar to years past.

There will be some additions this year to what trucks will be available for the event. According to Jewett, the Reading Municipal Light Department will be bringing one of their trucks to the LMG Touch A Truck event.

Jewett added that, in the spirit of making the event bigger and better each year, there have been some additional photo opportunities added. Sofya Cooper from Front Door Festive will be creating a display, and there will also be a flower display with an antique pick up truck courtesy of Gregory’s.

The event has many sponsors, including: A Mom’s Village, Cervizzi’s, Conquer Ninja Woburn, East Coast Dance, Fit4Mom, Front Door Festive, Goldfish Swim School and Wellness in Motion.

Jewett said that since LMG is a nonprofit organization, it prioritizes helping the Lynnfield community and building community engagement opportunities.

She added that the event does have some costs associated with it, such as for face painting, and those funds support LMG’s playground and family initiatives.

“This year, I’m mostly looking forward to getting the community together,” Jewett said. “It’s always fun to see the kids get so excited to press the horn on the truck and see all the families before the weather gets cold and everyone’s inside again.”
