Lynn Classical’s girls soccer team, once again helmed by coach Jessica Gambale, took care of business in Tuesday’s Greater Boston League opener. The Lady Rams defeated Revere, 2-1, in enemy territory.

Brenda Guevara Reyes and Tatiana De Leon tucked Classical’s goals, while Aileen Garcia dished out an assist and Aliyah Alvarado stopped 13 shots.

The Lady Rams, whose only loss came at the hands of St. Mary’s in the city tournament, return to Manning Field Thursday against Medford at 7:30 p.m.

It wasn’t easy, as Lynnfield didn’t score its final goal until the 78th minute. Ava Damiani struck first in this one, followed by Kaylee Barrett and Giada Antidormi, who also delivered an assist.

Hannah Doherty also played a “great game in the midfield and settled the ball down,” according to Lynnfield coach Mark Vermont.

“Essex Tech had a good gameplan – they played a defensive game,” said Vermont, whose Pioneers improved to 2-1 ahead of Thursday’s date with Georgetown. “It was a close game all the way until the end. Our girls kept battling and moving the ball around.”
