Athlete of the Week – Lynn Classical’s Edison Chacón

September 10, 2025 by Joey Barrett

You know what I’ve been thinking? Just a week into the boys soccer season, Lynn Classical’s Edison Chacón has already made a splash.

The Rams’ go-to man compiled four goals and two assists across just two games.

“He has put together some incredible performances already this season. He’s our engine in attack and his finishing has been quality,” said Classical coach Eric Moreno Jr. “He’s going to be a player who gives all defenses a hard time. I’m excited to see how he progresses and where he will be playing college soccer.”

Classical opened its season with a tie against traditional archrival Lynn English – and what a dandy it was. Chacón wasted no time, scoring the team’s first goal of the season via back-post tap-in.

From there, late in the game, the striker caught eyes again with a penalty-kick goal.

“Edison is our guy,” Moreno said postgame. “It was great to see him scoring in his senior year and having a great game.”

In the consolation game of the city tournament, the Rams defeated Lynn Tech with Chacón guiding the offense yet again.

Edison, good week.
