LYNN – A months-long investigation by the Lynn Drug Task Force, with help from the Salem Police Department and Massachusetts State Police, led to two arrests and the seizure of large quantities of narcotics and ammunition, authorities said.
Detectives executed a search warrant at a Lynn residence on Ocean Terrace on Monday morning and recovered more than 600 grams of cocaine, over 600 grams of fentanyl, about 200 grams of methamphetamine pills, more than 5 pounds of marijuana, and unlawfully possessed ammunition, according to Lynn Police.
Keenan Benpon, 32, of Lynn, was charged with distribution of a Class A substance, trafficking more than 10 grams of fentanyl, trafficking more than 200 grams of Class A substances, two counts of trafficking more than 200 grams of Class B substances, possession with intent to distribute a Class D substance, and possession of ammunition without an FID card.
Magnelis Rumardo, 31, of Lynn, was charged with trafficking more than 200 grams of Class A substances, two counts of trafficking more than 200 grams of Class B substances, possession with intent to distribute a Class D substance, and possession of ammunition without an FID card.
The Lynn Drug Task Force is a specialized unit that works to disrupt trafficking networks, dismantle drug operations, and address the root causes of substance abuse. The unit partners with local, state, and federal agencies to reduce drug-related crime and improve public safety.
Both suspects are scheduled to be arraigned in Lynn District Court.
