SAUGUS — The Cultural Council is beginning preparations for the second annual Cultural Festival, which has involved combining its event with the annual Saugus 411 event.
Both events focus on similar topics, bringing the community together and welcoming people with open arms, making it a solid partnership.
At the last Cultural Council meeting, the Council met with the 411 Committee so that they could begin figuring out logistics for next year. This included vendors, the layout of the Middle High School, and the businesses and nonprofits that have been involved in the past.
The festival will still have performers, as it did last year, as well as food, which will be served by local restaurants of different cultures. The Council also hopes to bring back some of the upstairs entertainment and interactive spaces, like the Boys and Girls Club and Circus Up.
For the 411 Committee, the focus leans more towards opening the doors to new members of the Saugus community. The Committee invites all those who moved to town after the last 411 event, giving them the chance to meet fellow community members.
Saugus 411 also has tables representing different groups in Saugus. Businesses also get involved, supplying different things for the free giveaways for the New Residents Welcome Bags.
Now, both groups will work on bringing their events together for a day of culture and community.
