Chamber drives food truck festival in Lynn

LYNN –– The Greater Lynn Chamber of Commerce (GLCC) will be hosting its first Food Truck and Craft Beverage Festival this Saturday from 12-6 p.m. at the Lynn Ferry Terminal at 398 Blossom St.

The event will include a ray of tasty options from local, regional, and national trucks for every palate. Over 15 vendors will be at the festival, including Cousin’s Main Lobster, The Blue Ox, Bent Water Brewing, and more.

Residents from all over the North Shore have expressed excitement over the festival, according to GLCC Executive Director Ryan Newhall.

As for its location at the Lynn Ferry Terminal, Newhall said the setting not only provides a beautiful view of the ocean, but also encourages participants from Boston to easily commute to Lynn for the experience.

“Hopefully this brings some attention to the Ferry site,” Newhall said.

New Lynn residents are also encouraged to attend the Food Truck and Beverage festival to get a sense of the community and see what deliciousness the city has to offer.

While Saturday marks the event’s debut, Newhall said the team plans on expanding the Food Truck and Craft Beverage Festival to an annual event in the future.

The first annual GLCC Food Truck and Craft Beverage Festival came from the idea of Lynn resident Donald Castle, who joined the committee at GLCC to organize the event.

The committee also includes Newhall, GLCC Operations Manager Christine Neals, former Ward 2 Councilor Rick Starbard, Harry McCabe of Lynn Housing Authority & Neighborhood Development (LHAND), and Reading Bank Vice President of Community Banking and Development Kerry Ranieri.

Newhall also thanked Mayor Jared Nicholson’s office and Lynn Economic Development & Industrial Corporation (EDIC) for helping the committee arrange the festival at the ferry terminal.

“We have a lot of ideas, and putting it into action takes a lot of hands. We’re excited about it. I think it will be great for the city,” Newhall said.

Parking will take place at the Clock Tower Business Center at 330 Lynnway. Tickets for the festival can be purchased at https://greaterlynnchamber.com/event/lynn-food-truck-craft-beverage-festival/.
