Struggles continued for Lynn Classical’s football team, which fell to Cathedral, 43-14, at Manning Field Saturday afternoon. The Rams fell to 0-4, while Cathedral upped its record to 2-1.
The visitors shot out a 30-0 halftime lead. Classical didn’t find the end zone until late in the third quarter, when Malik Masesa hauled in a pass from David Novoa. Gianni McKay converted the two-point conversion attempt.
A fourth-quarter touchdown from Charles Washington helped the cause, but it was too little, too late for the Rams.
“We need to get a little bit better each week,” said first-year Classical coach Brian Smith. “Put in your time and keep playing hard. I thought our guys responded in the second half and we were just outnumbered.”
The Rams host Malden (1-2) next Saturday at 5 p.m.
